Assignment 14: Halfway Reflection

1)    Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course? I have made sure to keep up with the assignments and made sure I am not working on them last minute. I have been organized and written down the due dates for each assignment on my calendar and given myself a deadline to complete each one so I’m not scrambling to finish them last minute.

2)    Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?

I felt like giving up after an exam I took. I felt so frustrated that I even considered dropping the class, but I was able to pull through by having hope and seeing two more opportunities ahead of me to do better. I believe that I was able to develop a tenacious attitude after this experience because I realized that if I was going to fail that at least I’d want to fail knowing I tried.
3)    Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
1)    Keep yourself organized; I highly recommend getting a calendar and writing down due dates for everything you have and try to have a study schedule that you’ll stick to.
2)    To develop that tenacious mindset don’t get upset when something goes wrong, but rather take the opportunity to learn and recognize your mistake.
3)    Create goals for yourself. Develop daily goals such as finishing half of your calculus homework, reading 20 pages of your business finance book, attend that club meeting, going to the gym. Doing this will help yourself become accountable and take on responsibility.

  1. Hey Nicole!
I do the same thing with my due dates! Making a date of my own to complete an assignment by really helps me to stay on time. Exams are super hard and I hate that bubbling in a test questions can affect a whole percentage of your grade, it really is discouraging sometimes. I really like your advice too, it makes me appreciate the fact that we have to read two other peoples posts and comment on them.
