Assignment 25: What's Next
Existing Market.
Since my venture has a very straightforward structure it was a bit difficult for me to think about what else to incorporate into it. I then thought that perhaps there could be a way of tracking how much progress a user has made; this is something that could be done that I have not planned on doing. In other words, the app could track how much food and money the user has saved. The way it would work would be that the user would be asked – once the expiration date for the item arrives- whether or not they used the item or not. Depending on what they respond, the app will track how much they have saved, in terms of food and money.
New Market.
I was thinking of adding an extra feature to my venture which would open it up for B2B. I had been planning on incorporating a shopping service within the app. I would like to team up with food/grocery delivery service apps so that when the expiration date is approaching for a food item, the user will automatically be given the option to add the product to their “Future Shopping List”. What this will do is then create a shopping list that the user will then be able to order from. Linking up with the grocery delivery apps would then allow for this service to occur. Depending on the state or county where the user is, I think I would team up with just one other service which is prominent in the user’s location.
Nicole, I think this app would be extremely useful to me and my family. I also think your idea of teaming up with food and grocery delivery apps would be beneficial to your business in the long run because I feel that it is the direction that society is moving. I am also a fan of the future shopping list idea. Great job!

ReplyDeleteNicole, this app is actually a really good idea because it could not only save people money, but help them budget as well. I would find this useful as a college student and I'm sure there are people around the country who could save money by realizing how much they are spending. This could cut their costs and help them pursue other goals. I could see you making this a subscription service as well if it is executed really well.
